Lighting of the Tree Celebration

We will be celebrating the start of the Christmas season with our traditional Lighting of the Tree Celebration on Thursday, Dec. 1st.  Join us for dinner at 5:30 pm, followed by a Chapel service at 7:00 pmwith Rev. Will Ericson, and the Celebration starting at approximately 7:30 pm in the Dining Room. There will be cookies, eggnog, and Christmas songs. Please join us for what promises to be a fun evening!

Residents & Board of Directors Christmas Dinner

I look forward to seeing all of the residents at this very special dinner on Thursday, Dec. 8th at 6:30 pmin the Dining Room. It’s a time to honor our residents and those serving as members of our Board of Directors. We want to say thanks to all of you who choose to call Plum Landing home. The Board volunteers their time and effort each year to help guide the operation of Plum Landing, and promote the mission of Plum Landing in the community. Also, don’t forget our newest tradition – cocktails from 5:30 – 6:15 pm before the big dinner on the 4th Floor!! We’ll also be serving a pizza buffet on the 2nd floor for lunch this day at 11:30 am so we can prepare the Dining Room for the evening’s festivities. This lunch is on us also!

Christmas Lights Viewing

As in years past, we’ll be taking a bus trip to view the Christmas lights in the area. We’ve not set a date yet (we need to know that the weather will be good!), but it’ll be sometime the week of Dec. 12th or 19th. We’ll notify you a few days ahead of time so you can sign up. We’ll leave at 7 pm, getting back around 8:30or so. We’ll go to Lehnertz Ave. for sure (a traditional display in Aurora), and either Phillips Park or Mooseheart. Let me know if you have any preference or know of another “hot spot”!

A Special “Christmas” Happy Hour Invitation

Word has it that we’ll be having a very special visitor joining us from the North Pole at Happy Hour this month! He’ll even be accompanied by his wife. This is a great opportunity to invite any of your family or friends, most especially the little ones, who’d like to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus that day. All I ask is that you let the Front Desk know about how many extra to expect. We want to make sure we have enough treats! It’s also a great chance to sport your Christmas sweaters or festive wear. Trust me when I say this will be a most memorable visit, so please be sure to invite your friends. It’s Wed., Dec. 14th at 2 pm. See ya there!!

Electronic Payment Option Update

I’m sorry we won’t be making the December deadline for the electronic payment option, but we will have it to start the new year! It will also include an option for credit card donations for anyone interested in that. I have a list of those residents and/or families interested, and will be sending them an e-mail with more information. If you don’t receive an e-mail from me and are interested, send me an e-mail ( indicating that, along with the e-mail address you’d like me to send any updates to. We’re almost there!!
