Catholic Communion

We have started hosting Catholic Communion every Sunday morning in the Chapel at 9:15 am. Michele Dugan, an Extraordinary Minister of Catholic Communion, from Holy Angels Church will be providing this service. We want to thank Michele and Deacon Hawksworth for their help.

Five Wishes

Cecilia Sanders will be here on Friday, September 26th at 2pm in the Dining Room to present the Five Wishes program, which is a type of living will that is recognized as a legal document in the state of Illinois. Five Wishes will let your family and doctors know your end of life plans, and covers such things as who you want to make health care decisions for you, when you can’t make them, the kind of medical treatment you want or don’t want, and what you want your loved ones to know.

Collecting Eyeglasses and Hearing Aids

We are collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Aurora Lions Club. Please drop off any old or unused ones in the box across from the mailboxes. Sight and hearing programs are a big part of the Lions Club mission, so your donations are extremely helpful to their cause. Thanks for your help.

Chicago River Cruise

We’re heading to Chicago for the Chicago Architecture River Cruise on Wednesday, Sept. 10th. The cost will be approximately $50 per person and include your ticket and bottled water during the trip. We’ll follow that with lunch and return home. Friends and family are welcome, but seating is limited. We’ll leave Plum Landing around 9 am or so, and arrive back between 3-4 pm. Please see Pam or Don to sign up.

Arlington Park Race Track Trip

We’re going to Arlington Park Racetrack on Thursday, Sept. 25th for an afternoon of watching the horses. If you’ve never been there, the track and grounds are just beautiful. You can bring a few dollars and enjoy some betting, or just watch if you prefer. Bus ride and admission is $5. Please pay Sue in the office. We’ll leave at 11 am, and have lunch ($10 or less) there. We’ll be back at Plum Landing by 5 pm. Feel free to invite family or friends. Seating is limited, so sign up with the Front Desk as soon as possible. This is a lot of fun and a great way to spend an afternoon. See Don with any questions. Hope to see you!
